Meet The Doctors

 Our Philosophy

The philosophy of our practice centers heavily on prevention. Treatment of immediate needs, followed by planned treatment - with prevention in mind - allows us to provide you the luxury of minimum continuing care needs.

In order to provide you with successful dental care, there must be a planned approach to treatment. With this in mind, your initial visit will include a thorough examination as well as other diagnostic aids such as photographs, study models, periodontal screening examination and patient specific home care instructions. We can then provide you with a better understanding of your dental condition and the steps we should take to provide for your continued excellent dental health.

A Positive Experience

Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success.  We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience.  Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

We thank you for allowing us to take care of your dental needs and look forward to serving you.

Dr. Aman Bhullar, DMD, FICOI

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself to you. I have recently joined Dr. Charles Bocks dental practice and very excited to join this wonderful team of oral health professionals.

I knew early on in my career planning that I wanted to be in a scientific and/or clinical field of some sort, but that I also wanted to help people. Having been in the chair too many times for my own liking, I can honestly say that I understand what it feels like to be the patient. I found my fit in a field where care and compassion are so very important.  My career in dentistry provides me with the perfect combination of practicing science and compassion. I have the opportunity every day to make a difference and I find this to be extremely fulfilling.

I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. I graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Cell Biology and Genetics in 1998. I spent the next year conducting research at UBC and was privileged to have co-authored an article in the Journal of Periodontology examining Biofilm in Dental Unit Waterlines. I graduated as Class President from Temple University, School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2004. I met my wife while attending dental school and we have been happily married since 2005.

After completing dental school, I returned to the Vancouver suburbs and started two very successful dental practices from scratch. The opportunity to develop patients trust and genuine interest in their well being brought an infinite amount of satisfaction to me. After much consideration and careful thought, our family made the decision to move to the Silicon Valley in 2017. The main reason for our transition to the Bay Area was to provide our children the best opportunity for educational opportunities as they get older. We felt the Silicon Valley would give them the most exposure to the dynamic digital world we are constantly surrounded in.

I recently was awarded my fellowship (FICOI) from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). To achieve this status, a dentist must document their successful dental implant cases, complete a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry, submit a letter of reference from another ICOI fellow, and complete an additional 75 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry with 5 years of receiving the fellowship.

Continuing to stay abreast of the best therapies and treatments for my patients drives my passion for further education. I am spending over 580 hours in 2019 to bring the most current skills and techniques to our team.

Outside of the office you will find my wife and I trying to keep up with our 4 daughters busy schedules. I have enjoyed coaching my daughters, basketball volleyball and softball teams in Almaden. I am an avid hockey fan and recreational men's league player. I am still a Vancouver Canucks fan at heart but learning to like the Sharks!

Please drop in and say hello, I would love to meet you and help you with your smile!

Over the last 14 years I have taken great pride in providing high quality care and conservative treatment options to our patients. I continue to learn and pursue skills to constantly improve the level of care I can provide to my patients. I have active membership in the following Associations:

Dr. Donald A. Pepper, DDS

Dr. Pepper is relocating his Almaden Dental Practice to Willow Glen on October 7, 2019

After many years in the Almaden Valley Community, I have the good fortune of partnering with Dr. Aman Bhullar in Willow Glen.  My office building was sold and the new landlord would not  renew my lease.
However good fortune prevailed and Dr. Bhulllar and I are going to partner at his location at 1660 Willow Street, Suite 7 in San Jose.

Dr. Bhullar has graciously allowed our entire office to move to the Willow Glen location where my entire staff will continue our same office hours that our Almaden location provided.

The combined efforts of Dr. Bhullar's state of the art philosophy and our two practices will allow us to provide longer office hours between the two doctors and staffs.

Our office will continue to provide care to patients of all ages. Our entire hygiene staff will continue as we have for many years and I will provide all phases of restorative, cosmetic, and preventive treatments to our patients.

I want to say thank you to all of our loyal patients who we have had the honor of treating for four decades.

We look forward to seeing you in our new location in October and continue enjoying the wonderful relationships we have cherished for many years.

Dr. Charles Bocks, III DDS

My name is Charles R. Bocks III DDS. I am a graduate of the University of Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry. Prior to dental school, I attended and graduated from Linfield College (a small liberal arts college in McMinnville, Oregon) with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry. During my tenure as a dentist, I have been involved in volunteering for the United Way, Los Gatos Rotary as well as the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the Santa Clara County Dental Society. I am a Fellow in the American College of Dentists as well as the International College of Dentists and a Member of the Pierre Fauchard Society. Since 1979 I have served on many committees and councils within organized dentistry. I have served as Chairman of the Peer Review committee, President of Santa Clara Dental Society, Chairman of the Council on Insurance, Chairman of the Board of 1201 Insurance Services and a member of the Council on Endorsed Programs for the California Dental Association. I have also served as a member and Chairman of the Council on Members Insurance and Retirement Programs for the American Dental Association.

I have been happily married for 48 years as of August 18, 2016. My wife Barbara is the consummate volunteer, involving herself if PTSA, Junior League, Summit League, The American Cancer Society and many other organizations for which she has raised money and support.

Barbara is the mother of our 2 children, Ryan Bocks and Stephanie Griffith.  They have blessed us with 4 grandchildren: Evan and Rachel Griffith and Charlie and Hunter Bocks.  The grandchildren are now the best part of my life!

I grew up in the Santa Clara Valley (where my family has resided since the 1840's) spending most of my youth on one of the family ranches where we grew Walnuts, Cherries, Pears, Apricots and Prunes.
